Hill and Bridge House

Nestled into a hillside on a two-acre parcel overlooking a creek, natural rock outcroppings, and a heavily wooded landscape, the Hill and Bridge House reinterprets the classic Southern home through a contemporary lens. The design elevates the main living level above a daylight basement, with a sweeping monumental staircase ascending to the front porch, drawing on regional architectural precedents that respond to the site’s topography and climate. South-facing porches, classic rooflines, white clapboard siding, and limed brick evoke the character of Southern vernacular architecture, while a transitional façade introduces a playful modern twist.
